Fr John Osman preached a powerful sermon today using as his theme the gospel of the day.
Two words "Generous" and "Generosity" are the words that still remain in the mind of this listener.
That we all need to embrace the disciplines of Lent with a generosity of mind and purpose and that our prayer, almsgiving and self denial should generous and without seeking any self or public adulation.

Other listeners might well have retained other words and phrases.
One should not be seduced by the superficiality of modern life. Ones life, alms and Lent should be conducted on the deepest spiritual plane.

On Saturday February 27th, the Vigil of lent 2, two words jumped out of the sermon at CB.
"Silence" and "Listen".
The silence of the mountain, the scene of Christs transfiguration. When Peter James and John witnessed Christ with Moses and Elijah on Mt Tabor and heard God the voice from the cloud proclaim. "This is my son, the chosen one, listen to him. Both Silence and Listening being often absent from modern day living.
